Listeners' recordings: publish the signal you heard

The "Publish the signal" button in the receiver records the air with a snapshot of the waterfall and puts it on the site under your callsign. A new Recordings section with a player, pages by user, station and frequency, and comments; a puzzling signal can be published with a question.

A yellow "Publish the signal" button appeared on the right of the receiver's bookmark strip. It records up to five minutes of what you are listening to; pressing it again stops. The moment you stop, the program takes a snapshot of the spectrum and the waterfall by itself: how the signal looked, not only how it sounded. The receiver goes quiet while the window is open, so the recording can be heard, and comes back after.

Then a window: the recording in a player, its waveform with edges you can drag to trim the excess, the waterfall snapshot, a title the program filled in (the catalogue station, frequency, mode, date and time UTC) and a description. Do not know what the signal is? The "I do not know what this is" box publishes it with a question, and others answer in the comments. A responsibility checkbox, and "Publish". The file goes to the site with the checksum the program took when the recording stopped: swapping it for another file is impossible. A copy can be saved to your disk as well.

The site grew a Recordings section: the latest, a tab of "What is this signal?" questions, the list of those who share, a page per listener, recordings by catalogue station and by frequency. Every recording has a page of its own: the waterfall snapshot, a player with the waveform, frequency, mode, time, receiver, author, description, and comments, where registered users of the site answer what the signal is. The latest recordings show on the home page and in the catalogue articles of their station.

The rules are short and written in the terms of use: the recording was made by you through the program, you are responsible for broadcasters' copyright, and no propaganda or private conversations of others. The site may remove any recording.
