Version 0.4.1: remote control from the phone, voice on the air and the Android app (beta)
The program can be run from a phone: at home over the local network, on the road over the internet. Voice on SSB, AM and FM from a microphone. The Android app is out as a beta.
- Remote from the phone. The ShackDeck app for Android pairs with the program by the code or the QR code from the Remote tab. On the phone: listening from any source, the dial by finger, the S-meter, FT8 decodes with flags, the logbook, the map with rays and station colours as in the program, the waterfall with a spectrum, working stations by FT8 and by voice.
- Without a computer. The app listens to public online receivers by itself: its own FT8 decoder, a waterfall, the stations on the map. All it needs is your callsign.
- Voice on the air. In SSB, AM and FM there is a Talk button: while it is held, the radio transmits and the voice goes from the computer's or the phone's microphone into the radio's sound input. The key drops by itself if the link to the phone is lost.
- The source from the phone. An online receiver from the list that has the frequency, your own radio or the online band; when a phone connects, the program takes the radio by itself if one is there.
- The Remote tab shows the phones connected, the pairing code with a copy button and the address on the home network.
The Android app is out as a beta at shackdeck.com/android: this is the first release, and the app reports its errors to the developer by itself. Transmitting from the phone is part of ShackDeck Plus; listening is free.
The program update installs by itself where automatic updates are on.
